Lauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd Takes on The Trading Company

Trading Company PhotoIt is a pleasure to announce that Lauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd Integrated Communications has added The Trading Company at Spice Route to its client list. The appointment came about in 2015 when Lauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd provided media-relations for The Trading Company’s launch.

Situated on the famous Spice Route wine farm in Paarl, The Trading Company is an eclectic space where design talent is celebrated with an array of colours and textures that showcase how African flavour can modernise European styling. The Trading Company stocks an assortment of bespoke items including homeware and limited edition pieces from local designers.

Fitting in perfectly with the artisanal philosophy that Spice Route embodies, proprietor Abgail Bisogno collaborates with local designers to create exclusive items for her store. As the former MD of the Foschini Division for the Foschini Group, her retail experience is evident in the trendy and one-of-a-kind treasures found at the store, from jewellery, cushions and table linen, to unique furniture items and stationery. Her eclectic style can be seen throughout the store, which has a modernised farmhouse feel created by vibrant colours, patterned wallpaper and refurbished old items that were found on the farm.

When asked about her creative flair when stocking and decorating The Trading Company, Bisogno says, “I love merchandising the store and playing with different products and mixing it up to make it interesting for the visitor.”

Looking Dapper!

Dapper PhotoLauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd Integrated Communications was appointed as the communications agency for two trendy Bree Street additions, Dapper Coffee Co. and Club9. Over a period of four months, the company assisted with the successful launch of these unique destinations, co-located on the corner of Bree and Strand Streets in Cape Town.

Club9 showcases classic cars while Dapper Coffee Co. provides the perfect cup of coffee, a quick snack or even a lazy afternoon lunch. Mother and son team, Lauren and Alex Molsen, collaborated with Chef Luke Wonnacott to design a menu based on seasonal and local flavours. As for the coffee, the sweet and complex flavours leave a lingering note on the palate and are complemented by the classic café interior designed by Toni Unterberger from Rivets and Rockets.

For the motoring enthusiast there’s Club9, owned by car collector, Dirk Molsen. Cracking the nod to join this club means truly having a passion for vintage cars. Most of the vehicles on display will be classic Porsche models, which incidentally also gave Club9 its name – owing to the fact that most Porsche models start with the number 9. Other classic beauties like Austin Healey, Ferrari and Alfa Romeo are also showcased.

Lauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd Gets Creative with Lalela

Lalela Logo

Lauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd Integrated Communications is humbled to announce that the company will be working with the Lalela Project by providing PR services aimed at raising the local profile of the NPO and securing more corporate social investment. These services will be provided at a 50% discounted “low bono” rate in support of the organisation.

Lalela Project is focused on providing at-risk youth with the opportunity to grow and explore their own creativity as well as their entrepreneurial spirit. The project provides after school education for children as young as 6 years old. Through its I AM (Ideas, Art and Music) curriculum, Lalela helps youth learn how to think creatively while enhancing their problem-solving skills.

In order to boost awareness, as well as the self-confidence of the participants, the Lalela Scarf project turns the young artists’ works of art into wearable fashion pieces. These uniquely colourful scarves showcase the creative potential of the children, while also raising funds for the organisation.

Though art is often an overlooked subject, it has been shown that children who engage with the arts are more likely to continue their education and succeed. An example is the fact that in Hout Bay an impressive 95% of Lalela seniors graduated in 2015, a marked improvement on the 64% rate in 2014.

Lauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd Selected To Represent New Eatery, Mulberry & Prince

Mulberry & Prince

Newly established eatery, Mulberry & Prince Kitchen and Bar, situated in Cape Town’s trendy CBD, is one of the latest additions to the Lauren Shantall (Pty) Ltd client portfolio.

Mulberry & Prince, on the corner of Pepper and Bree Street, is the brainchild of born-and-bred Capetonian, Cornel Mostert, and Brooklyn native, Cynthia Rivera. The dynamic duo, who met and studied at The Culinary Institute of America in New York, combined their love of travel, cooking and Modern American cuisine to create a restaurant that is unlike any other in the Mother City.

The food at Mulberry & Prince is purposely intended for sharing. Guests are encouraged to order a few small-to-midsize plates, communally sampling a bit of each. This style of eating, which is gaining popularity in the U.S. – along with the fusion of different cultural cooking techniques and ingredients – offers a fresh perspective to Capetonian diners and one they will undoubtedly adore!

To complement the food, Adri van Zyl of Atelier Interiors designed the space with an air of understated elegance in mind. Stained glass, dirty pinks, lush velvets and an eclectic mix of custom-made and modern furniture were combined within a white gallery setting. Cape Town-based artist, Kurt Pio, finishes the space off beautifully with his modern bespoke artwork, creating a refreshingly unique dinner spot for those seeking an intimate night out or a relaxed early-evening glass of wine in the courtyard.

Senior Account Manager, Leah De Vos says: “We are thrilled to welcome this gorgeous new restaurant to our clientele list. The space is beautiful and the food is equally delicious. We are very excited to be able to assist them in their marketing and communications strategy in order to give them an advantage in the always-competitive Cape Town restaurant scene.”
